A FULLY SUPPORTED COMMUNITY BIKE RIDE
Tour de Belt 🚲
Ride the Greenbelt. Bring your people. Discover Harrisburg together.
See Harrisburg Like You’ve Never Ridden It Before
The Tour de Belt is a scenic, fully supported ride that loops around the Capital Area Greenbelt — connecting Harrisburg and its surrounding communities in one unforgettable day on the bike.
It’s fun. It’s social. It’s surprisingly scenic.
And it’s the one time each year you can ride the entire Greenbelt with friends, support, and great vibes all the way around.
Why Ride Tour de Belt?
If you’ve ever finished a ride and thought, “I didn’t know so many cool spots existed around here” — this ride is for you.
- Wildwood Park
- City island
- Martin Luther King Jr Memorial
- Five Senses Garden
- Harrisburg State Hospital
- Farm Show Complex
The route blends city parks, river views, neighborhood connectors, and trail sections that locals love — and many riders discover for the first time.
This isn’t a race. It’s about exploring, connecting, and enjoying the ride.
A Ride That Fits Your Pace
- Ride at your own speed
- Hang out at rest stops

Explore the Route
18 miles of “wait… this is still Harrisburg?”
- Surprisingly scenic park sections
- Urban riding with personality
- Car-free stretches
- Local community connectors
With Sycamore and Cameron Streets closed to car traffic, Tour de Belt riders get calm, fully protected crossings—making one of South Harrisburg’s busiest areas safer and smoother than ever. It’s a great example of how the Tour prioritizes rider safety while creating a relaxed, confidence-boosting experience through the neighborhood.
What Kind of Bike Do I Need?
Gravel, hybrid, road, mountain, and pedal-assist e-bikes* all work great on the Greenbelt. Bikes with gears are best — the route is mostly flat with some inclines and one hill climb up to Reservoir Park.
About that hill climb: it’s a fun challenge for riders of all skill levels — and one of the best spots to hop off, walk, and get to know someone new.
*E-bikes are welcome at the Tour de Belt. All riders are expected to operate their e-bikes safely, under their own control, and at speeds of 15 mph or less, consistent with shared-use trail conditions. Riders must adjust speed based on crowding, conditions, and location, and always yield to pedestrians, volunteers, and other cyclists to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Many riders walk their bikes up the hill at Reservoir Park. You’ll have company. No rider is left behind. Special word about our effort to Buckle the Belt
Due to construction in south Harrisburg, our 20-mile loop has been severed. CAGA leadership is working closely with key partners to find a permanent, safe, and environmentally sound way to reconnect the trail or as we like to say Buckle the Belt. Proceeds from Tour de Belt from riders and sponsors will help fund the project. Online donations separate from Tour de Belt can be made at caga.org/buckle-the-belt. Â
Thank you to our Tour de Belt sponsors!
