Unofficial Bicycle Detour - Paxtang Parkway
The Capital Area Greenbelt Association (CAGA) is sharing the following information to help Greenbelt users navigate the temporary closure of the Paxtang Parkway trail segment near the Market Street Gate.
The Greenbelt trail at the Paxtang Parkway near the Market St Gate location is currently closed. CAGA offers this unofficial bicycle detour alternative as a courtesy. Users should use caution and adhere to all safety measures and applicable rules and laws because the detour is unofficial and unmaintained by CAGA. By proceeding on the detour, USERS ACKNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPT ALL RISKS associated with the detour.
Why the Detour Exists
This portion of the Greenbelt is closed due to active infrastructure work. For everyone’s safety—and to respect the construction area—it is critical that users do not bypass barricades or enter the closed trail section.
Because Paxtang Parkway is an important connector for cyclists, CAGA is providing route guidance only for an alternate on-road bicycle detour. This detour is not part of the Greenbelt system and is not maintained, signed, or monitored by CAGA.
